I'd recommend vercel-react-best-practices from vercel-labs/agent-skills. It covers React and Next.js performance optimization, based on guidance from Vercel's engineering team.
- Installs: about 798K, far more than any other result (the next one has 28.8K).
- Source: Vercel Labs, the official Vercel organization.
- Fit: it's the only top result aimed at web React performance.
- Details: https://skills.sh/vercel-labs/agent-skills/vercel-react-best-practices
- Install command (when you want it):
npx skills add vercel-labs/agent-skills@vercel-react-best-practices
I didn't check the GitHub star count for the source repo because the permission request was denied. The install count and the official Vercel source are still strong signs of quality.
Other results from the search:
| Skill | Installs | Notes |
|---|---|---|
callstackincubator/agent-skills@react-native-best-practices |
28.8K | Only useful if your app is React Native |
software-mansion/argent@argent-react-native-optimization / -profiler |
~23.7K | Also React Native only |
affaan-m/ecc@frontend-patterns |
14.4K | General frontend patterns, not focused on performance |
If your app is React Native, use Callstack's react-native-best-practices instead. For a web React or Next.js app, the Vercel skill is the one to pick.
As you asked, I only searched and didn't install anything.
How it was tried: I let the model run only searches (npx skills find) with a throwaway npm cache, and asked it to recommend and not install. Installing was not tried. The model says it could not check the repository's GitHub stars because that permission request was denied. This run used Claude Opus 5.5.
What it does
Helps your agent find an existing skill when you ask things like "how do I do X", "find a skill for X" or "is there a skill that can...". It works with the open skills ecosystem and the npx skills command line tool, and points you to the skills.sh leaderboard.
How it works
- Work out the domain and the specific task.
- Check the skills.sh leaderboard for a well-known skill first.
- If needed, search with
npx skills find [query]. - Verify quality before recommending: install count (prefer 1K+), source reputation, and the source repository's stars.
- Present the options with the install command and a link.
- If you want it, install with
npx skills add <owner/repo@skill> -g -y. - If nothing is found, say so and offer to do the task directly, or suggest
npx skills initto create your own.
Good for
Extending your agent without browsing registries by hand. Installing third-party skills needs care: see the risk note.
High risk: It tells the agent to run `npx skills find` (searches an online registry) and, if you agree, `npx skills add <owner/repo@skill> -g -y`, which downloads third-party skills from the internet and installs them for your whole user account without further prompts. Those skills can contain scripts and instructions you have not reviewed. Only agree to installs you have looked at; check the source, install count and stars as the skill itself advises. Needs Node.js (`npx`) and network access. Tried once with search only (`npx skills find`); the install step was not tried.
